It feels crazy the way my stomach still churns when i bump into a friend from school after nearly a decade. Many summers have connived to distort the innocent candid faces that sashayed joy and despair in the same breath. Yet, the smiles beam - on recognizing a school friend and reminiscing the times spent laughing, bickering , bantering. Gee !! All we could care for was getting a free period, winning chalk fights and scampering trying to finish homeworks. Right from the morning drills in the assembly that all loathed to the tomfoolery in the bus lines at the end of the day, our worlds were painted in a myriad bunch of dazzling colors. And in the din, each of us had endeavored to build a firm foundation to paint the magnum opus' our lives are today.
It seems only a fleeting instant back, we were kids running amok in shorts and skirts and now the same brats transformed into comely men and women walking down the aisle, taking vows of ageless amalgamation.
Amongst us, there are plenty still dazed - harking on those days of grandiose and the rest who find such speaking frivolous and futile. Yet that which underlines the essence is the fact that - All of us are forms and impressions of one another, entwined inextricably by a common strand - our alma mater.
p.s. bumped into shweta and tarun @ spice today.
